The photo above shows the rather bizarre Passenger Terminal at Brampton Island aerodrome on 18 August 1966. Brampton Island is a holiday resort located in the Cumberland Group of islands in the Great Barrier Reef off Mackay, Queensland. The island's airstrip had only been opened the previous year and the design of the Terminal's roof clearly emulates the design of the famous Sydney Opera House (the Opera House did not open until 1973, seven years after this photo was taken).
